This research explores the crucial roles of the Uyghur diaspora and transnational actors in fashioning and sustaining a collective Uyghur aspiration to advance their brethern's right in China and to further forge an East Turkestan state. These are desires that will admittedly be difficult to achieve from within their perceived homeland of Xinjiang in China. I use social network analysis to map out the Uyghurs' international networks.
